Bye Bye

Hi,

Today is my last day in Vancouver and maybe this post will be the last one.
I don't have words to explain what I've seen during this trip. Even the pictures I took during these three weeks can't help me show my feelings. It's been a unique experience!!!
I made friends, visited beautiful places and also enjoyed ILAC.

I hope to come back here again because three weeks went so fast...

The same company but different way of working!!

I work for an international elevator company and during my stay here in Canada I'm comparing experiencies in the Vancouver's Office to Brazil.

The most amazing thing is that here they have differente procedures in their activities and they are surprised by the way we work in Brazil.

I thought that I would ask them a lot of things until I bothered them but what's happening is the opposite. They are asking me more question than I couldn't imagine.

Mandela a world citizen!!!

From Vancouver.

Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Qunu, South Africa. Because of his ideas we can consider him a world citizen. Since the beginning of his life he fought for a better South Africa with equal rights for everybody, black and white.

He came from a poor family of four children (him and three sisters) and since his youth he had to work to help them. He married three times during his life. He was against apartheid, a kind of discrimination in his country; where black and white have different rights. They couldn’t study in the same schools or walk in the same places and so on.

During his life he joined the African National Congress (ANC) being Youth League Secretary in 1947, Deputy Head of ANC in 1952 and also President of the ANC in 1991. The goal of the ANC was to end the unjust system of apartheid. Because of that fight, the ANC was outlawed in 1960 and Mandela was put in jail for a life term, but after 27 years he was released on February 27, 1990.

All these efforts to change the racial relations of his country earned him a Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. After that, he was elected President of South Africa (1994-1999) the first democratic president of his country.

Now he’s retired and raising money for children’s charities and his example of equality is followed around the world.

Bullies, the change must begin at home!!

Giovanni Moreira - From Vancouver, CA

I think bullies are enrolled in all schools in the world and teachers must be preparead to deal with them. In some cases, I think their behavior is due to their relationships at home. Some parents don't give them the attention they need or give them material stuff instead of love or a pep talk to show how life is great.
At school they are agresssive with their classmates and with their teachers too. They skip classes and everything else.
So teachers sometimes are not only teachers, but fathers, mothers and friends giving students affection that should be given by their parents.
